Self-Compassion Workshop (Introduction to Self-Compassion):
- Do you find yourself being self-critical and/or negatively comparing yourself to others?
- Do you tend to blame yourself for things you are not responsible for?
If so, this would be the workshop for you.
The ideas of Self Compassion are evidence based and promote the concept of being self-compassionate as a healthier way to relate to ourselves. The focus will be on letting go of harsh self-judgments and criticism and to develop strategies to encourage a more compassionate view of self.
The aim of the workshop is to
- Develop an understanding of the theory behind self-compassion
- Introduce and practice some Self Compassion techniques
- To think through next steps if you want to take the ideas forward

Self-Compassion Group:
If you attended our Self-Compassion Workshop and found the ideas and practices helpful, you may wish to apply to the Self-Compassion Group, for the opportunity to explore both theory and practice in a little more depth within a group context.
The group will explore the concept of compassion and how this can be of benefit to us within the Compassion Focused Therapy Model developed by Dr Paul Gilbert. We will revisit the 3 systems of affect-regulation, explore thinking loops and the ways in which our thought/feeling patterns can sometimes be unhelpful in keeping our threat system activated. We will also begin to develop the practice of Self-Compassion further, incorporating Mindfulness as the foundation for this practice.
