Locum Mental Health Advisor

Full time, five days per week, 6 month fixed term contract

£31,406 – £40,927

Cambridge University Counselling Service is seeking to recruit one Mental Health Advisor to work at the University Counselling Service to support students with serious or enduring mental health problems and help them access the specialist services they need.

You will work with staff in the Colleges, Counselling Service and Disability Resource Centre, as well as with Cambridge & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, to develop and enhance mental health support to students of the university.  You will also be responsible for assessing students’ fitness to study when emotional or mental health problems are affecting their academic progress.

This is a significant position in this large, busy and well-respected multi-disciplinary Counselling Service.

You will be professionally qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Mental Health Social Worker or equivalent, and have significant relevant work experience.

The post is a six month contract position.

 

(Due to Covid-19 the University Counselling Service has ceased to offer individual face-to-face appointments or group sessions. Instead we are offering students telephone/video consultations.

We are unable to provide an exact date as to when we will return back to the Student Service building on a full time basis so please apply on the basis that you may be working from your home on some days until further notice.

You will need to take this into consideration as you do need to be able to work in a secure environment whereby all  information will be managed in a confidential manner at all times.)
